Trusted Answer Optimisation
We do not write you a better blog post.
Google and the assistants build an answer out of whatever they trust: a forum thread, a video, a directory, a publisher, sometimes a company page. So the job is not to write the eleventh version of an article that already exists. It is to find what nobody has published, build exactly that, and put it everywhere the answer gets assembled.
Here is the whole method, followed end to end on one search.
The method, in four moves
Find · Make · Place · Hold
- Find.
Agents read every platform around the clock to see where your buyers search, who the answer is, what it’s built from, and why it isn’t you.
- Make.
The assets that deserve to be the answer: fact pages, calculators, comparisons, data from your own numbers, answer videos. Not blog posts.
- Place.
Into the sources those answers are built from: the directory the AI cites, the thread, the publisher, YouTube. Only where a search says it matters.
- Hold.
Agents watch every page you own, every day. When a fact goes out of date, a rate changes, a person leaves, or the winning answer shifts, we fix it before it costs you. Coverage is the score; leads are the point.
Find, make and place all point forwards, and any agency will sell you a version of them. Hold is the one that runs forever after — and it is the only one that needs a machine, because nobody reads every page you own every day looking for a fact that quietly expired.
A worked example
Financial advice · eight steps
Start here
One search, chosen because it is worth winning.
High intent, badly served, and about to get more urgent: from April 2027 unspent pensions fall inside inheritance tax.
Expand
It is never one search.
One question becomes a cluster. The cluster is the thing you win, not the phrase.
Look at the answer
See who the answer is built from today.
Not a ranking report. A list of who Google and the assistants are quoting, and where they found it.
The question everyone skips
What could we add that nobody has?
Already on the page
- The rule, explained
- The age-75 distinction
- "Speak to an adviser"
- A 2027 news summary
Nowhere to be found
- Your number, not the rule
- What the 2027 change costs your family
- A form checklist you can actually finish
This is the step that decides everything. Another explainer competes. The thing nobody has gets cited.
Build
Make the asset that does not exist yet.
Put in a pot size, get the number your family keeps before and after April 2027, with the working shown. Ten minutes to use, nobody else has one.
Distribute
One asset, reformatted for every surface.
The same work, in the format each place rewards. This is the part agencies skip, because it is not a blog post.
The result
Now the answer is partly yours.
Cited in the AI answer, linked from the thread, watched on the video, and ranking on the page. Not because the page was optimised. Because the thing was worth quoting.
Hold
And then it starts ageing.
The first seven steps have an end. This one does not. Prices move, tax years roll over, people leave, and the answer moves on without telling you — so the same read that found the gap runs against every page you own, every day. The alternative is a page quietly quoting last year’s fees, being cited by ChatGPT, today.
Illustrative example. The search is real and so is the gap, but the citation shares shown are drawn to explain the shape of the work rather than to report a measurement.
Same steps. Different answers.
Every agency runs a version of this process. The difference is what happens at each step, and the difference compounds.
The usual retainer
What we do instead
Pick the keyword with the best volume
Pick the search worth winning, then read every question underneath it
Check what the top ten pages cover
Check what the top ten pages are missing, because that is the only gap worth filling
Write a better version of the same article
Build the thing nobody has: the calculator, the real numbers, the answer on video
Publish it and wait
Reformat it for every surface the answer is assembled from, then keep it current
Report the rankings
Report where you are cited, and which of those places sent an enquiry
We still do the technical work, still fix the site, still publish regularly. That part is table stakes. The part that decides whether you get cited is the asset nobody else was willing to build.
Why this exists
I have been doing this since I was fifteen.
My first client was the pizza place down the road. I did not know what I was doing, but I worked out that if you got the details right, people found them instead of someone else, and the phone rang. That was the whole hook and I never really got over it.
Since then I have ranked more than fifty sites myself, and worked on hundreds more across the agencies I have been part of. Long enough to have run the standard playbook thousands of times: research the keyword, write the better article, build some links, send the ranking report.
Then it stopped working the way it used to. I saw it in client accounts before I read about it anywhere: pages holding their positions while the clicks disappeared, because Google had started answering above the results. The assistants did the same thing. Being the tenth good article about a subject became worth almost nothing.
What did keep working was strange and specific. The client with the calculator nobody else had. The one whose numbers got quoted because they published real ones. The one who answered the actual question in a thread, on video, in the places the answer was being assembled from. Those got cited. Everyone else got summarised.
So I built Julio around that: create the asset nobody else can be bothered to make, then use AI to get it into every format and onto every surface where the answer is decided. That is what I mean by Trusted Answer Optimisation. It is not a rebrand of SEO. It is what is left of SEO once you accept that the answer no longer has one home.
